E M Strategies was established is 2007 by Dr. Eliot Kalter.

Dr. Kalter brings forty years of experience in the study and practice of global capital markets, with a focus on EM countries. He retired from the International Monetary Fund in June 2007 as Assistant Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department (previously, he was Assistant Director of the Western Hemisphere Department).  Dr. Kalter is also a Senior Fellow, The Fletcher School at Tufts University and Co-Head of SovereigNet: The Fletcher Network for Sovereign Wealth and Global Capital.
